At my original School, Wallington High School for Girls, I fell short of my conditional offer for medicine by one grade in each subject. I came to Duff Miller Sixth Form College because I heard that they had a good record of success in lifting the grade of people like me to the requisite level and of helping re-sit candidates to gain a conditional offer a second time around. Therefore I enrolled to study intensive A-Level retake courses in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. I was not disappointed by the results...Read More

I left my previous school after GCSE as I found its boarding school environment to constricting. I really enjoyed the freedom at Duff Miller 6th Form College allowing me to find a good balance of work and life outside college, particularly as I was now in London. I came to Duff Miller College two years ago to do my A Levels. I found the atmosphere to be very friendly and I settled in quickly. I have enjoyed my time here very much. The one thing I like most in Duff Miller is the quality of teaching. While here I studied Biology, Chemistry, Psychology and Maths (AS) and all the teachers have been really helpful. The class sizes are small so every student gets lots of attention. As A Level Colleges in London go, for this was the best by far.

I came to Duff Miller last year having already completed my A-Levels. As I hadn't actually applied for University and I didn't have any idea about what I wanted to study, I thought it best to improve my grades so that when I did apply I had the best possible chance of getting into my desired course. Coming to Duff Miller to do a year intensive A-Level retake course in two of my A-Levels was the best decision I could have made. The atmosphere was so friendly and everyone was happy to help. The easy going and first name relationship with teachers made it easy to ask for help when needed. The work itself was focussed on what was required in the exams so the best possible grades were achieved. I've really enjoyed this year. |

| Gurdeep Kainth Duff Miller really helped me gain confidence to achieve my grades and do well in my exams. It offered me support in completing my UCAS form and personal statement. The teacher's doors were always open to listen to any problems or queries and they always gave good advice. When I first visited the college both students and teachers were very welcoming and friendly and it had the right environment for me to learn. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Duff Miller, socially and from an academic perspective | | |

Rochelle Brainerd After being unsuccessful in getting the grades needed to fulfil my Medicine offer, I was given an opportunity to meet Chris Kraft along with some of the department teachers. This initial meeting helped me to regain the confidence in my own abilities and endeavour to reapply for Medicine. The college really helpful with my application, and I was able to get advice from previous students, practicing Doctors and admissions officers who were regular speakers at the college. Teachers also gave me mock interviews to prepare me for the real thing and I was delighted to regain my offer from UCL...Read More

Charlotte Alvis This is to say a huge thank you to Clive Denning, for being such a great teacher over the past few months. Needless to say I was ecstatic over my results and I have got a place at the Royal Veterinary College. It would not have been possible if it wasn't for your unprecedented ability to make me understand physics, so I really can't thank you enough. |

We would like to express our thanks to your staff at Duff Miller for the help that Mattea received this academic year. Without your help and encouragement, and the excellent teaching provided by Phil and Gordon, Mattea would not be starting her veterinary training at the Royal Veterinary College later this month. |

Before I came to Duff Miller A-Level College I had 2C’s and 2D’s at AS-level and knew drastic action was required in order to have a realistic chance of studying medicine at University. Having opted to follow the traditional two-year A-level course, I was delighted to obtain 3A’s at A-level in Chemistry, Biology and Physics; with an A at AS level Maths. This was only made possible by the excellent standard of teaching and on going support and encouragement from the dedicated staff. Regular exam practice obtained by the weekly E.P.P’s helped build up self-confidence as well as providing realistic feedback.
Looking back now I believe I made the right choice and attending Duff Miller has proved to be a sound investment.

Lara Ramsey Grades obtaineed: A,A,A
When I came to Duff Miller Independent Sixth Form College I had five average GCSEs and little confidence in my academic capabilities. I cannot fault Duff Miller in terms of outstanding quality of teaching that I received, not to mention the level of support and care that can be gained from practically any member of staff.
After my two years with the college I left overjoyed at achieving three As at A-level, and having been accepted to study psychology at my first choice university, Nottingham. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Duff Miller and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who is looking for a little extra support and encouragement during these crucial and difficult few years of their education.' |

Last year I gained three middle B grades at A-level which wasn't enough to guarantee me a place at my desired university. One year on, after A-Level retakes I have three A's in Maths, Economics and History, and now have the opportunity to study Accountancy and Finance at Bristol University. I'd like to thank my subject teachers that got me through the year; the late Steve Salkeld, Derek Wall and Clive Castaldo, all of whom guided me and gave me the belief that I would achieve my goals. |

I just wanted to give you an update to how everything has turned out so far: Very Well! The reference you wrote me rubbed a few of the top dogs at Peninsula the right way and now I'm here! I've been here the best part of 2 months or thereabouts and I'm really loving it. The course, the people, the place and everything in between is great and I really wouldn't trade it. Duff Miller's had a massive part in getting me to where I want to go and for that I'm grateful. Also, thanks for everything you've done, I know you've gone out of your way and I really appreciate it - I owe you one!
