GCSE Combined Science is made up of 3 examinations each lasting an hour and thirty minutes, in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. It also contains a 20% coursework component.

Chemistry: 1) Classifying Materials - Atomic structure and bonding 2) Changing Materials - Formulae and Equations 3) Patterns of Behaviour - The Periodic Table, Noble Gases, Alkali metals, Halogens, Transition metals, Chemicals from salt and chemicals from calcium carbonate. 4) Changing Materials - Extraction and uses of metals and useful products from crude oil. 5) Patterns of Behaviour - Rates of reaction and energy transfers 6) Changing Materials - Manufacture of Ammonia, The Earth and its Atmosphere.
Physics: 1) Electricity and Magnetism - Units, Main electricity, energy and potential difference in circuits, electric charge, electromagnetism and electromagnetic induction. 2) Forces and Motion - Units, movement and position, force and movement, forces and shape 3) Waves - Units, properties of waves, the Earth's layered structure, electromagnetic spectrum, light, and sound. 4) The Earth and beyond - The solar system and the universe 5) Energy resources and Energy transfer - Units, work and power, energy resources, and electricity generation 6) Radioactivity
