While many associate sixth form colleges primarily with A-Level courses, Duff Miller Sixth Form College has developed a thriving GCSE department that can provide the ideal introduction to life at the college ahead of moving on to A-Levels.
The informal yet exam-focused atmosphere can prove beneficial to students, especially in preparing them for the greater freedom and academic rigour of the sixth form. But it is the small class sizes and personal attention we offer which make our GCSE courses such an appealing option. Added supervision and extracurricular activities are also provided for students, in recognition of their younger age and in accordance with the demands of the National Curriculum.
At Duff Miller GCSE students can expect:
Personalised Teaching and Support
By providing small class sizes, personal tutors and support from the GCSE head of year, as well as a strong focus on individual students’ needs, we ensure that all our GCSE students stay on track to maximise their academic potential.
A Complete Education
Our staff provide students with study skills sessions, supervised independent study periods, Personal Social and Health Education, weekly sports and activity sessions, examination practice and study trips. Together these combine to give students the skills and experience they need in order to succeed and to make well-informed future study choices.
Direct Progression to A-Levels
On successful completion of GCSE studies, students can progress directly onto an A-Level programme at Duff Miller as they progress towards university entry.
