Textiles surround us in our daily lives in clothes, furnishing, wallpaper, cushions. You too can become a designer of our environment.
Textiles at Duff Miller is a creative course where you explore and choose from printing and painting on fabric, batik, knitting, embroidery to designing and making your own simple fashionable garment or accessory.
For Coursework you develop your ideas from a theme, look at links to other artists, designers and cultures of today and past times. You will use a sketchbook and make samples and then produce a final piece.
For the exam starting from a set theme you prepare ideas and samples for a final piece. A sketchbook is used over several weeks and then followed by a practical exam.
A visit to the Knitting and Stitching show is recommended and the V and A is near college and a fantastic resource.
